Wiesner, Jerome

(b. 1915)
   American scientist. Born in Detroit, he was an electronic engineer and carried out high level radar development. From 1961 to 1964 he was special scientific assistant to President Kennedy and director of the US Office of Science and Technology. In 1971 he became president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
